The city of Montclair, located near the nexus of Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Orange Counties, is at the perfect spot for commuters and for local businesses. When Montclair Plaza opened nearly fifty years ago, it set the foundation for commercial growth for the city. Now the plaza is one of the most lucrative shopping destinations in San Bernardino County, and it has contributed greatly to the economy of the area. Montclair residents benefit from not only this shopping destination being right in their backyard, but also from the proximity of several major colleges and universities, including the Claremont Colleges and California Polytechnic University at Pomona, and the cultural and educational vitality those institutions bring to the region. Eleven parks, including Wilderness Park and Montclair Skate Park, give plenty of reasons for residents to get outside, and Reeder Ranch, a preserved citrus grove, harkens back to the early agricultural development of the area. But Montclair’s motto is “The People Are the City,” a solid reminder of the strong sense of community evident in Montclair.
