Home to the LA/Ontario International Airport, Ontario, California, is also home to Ontario Mills, a premier shopping destination, and Citizens Business Bank Sports Arena, where Ontario Reign hockey rules. But Ontario has a deep history, from its beginnings as a Model Colony of planned development and family-oriented growth. This is still evident in the historic homes which line Euclid Avenue, and buildings such as The Granada Theatre, a nearly one hundred year-old theater which hosts “The Dinner Detective, America’s Largest Interactive Murder Mystery Dinner Show.” Thirty parks, some of them dating from close to the town’s inception, and several recreation centers dot the town. Ontario’s most renown annual event is “Christmas on Euclid”, where several blocks of the length of Euclid Avenue are shut down for booths filled with artisans, musicians and vendors of all types, and the weekend is capped off with a classic car show and parade. Ontario melds the past and present and is looking forward to a bright future.
